Hakuna · CRM & Operations
Hakuna Salesforce
The operations platform behind an international movement — activities, registrations, payments, donations and subscriptions, built on Salesforce with an in-house design system to keep every screen consistent.
Scale
One org, a lot of moving parts.
What started as a CRM has grown into the internal platform behind much of Hakuna’s daily work. Built in-house, in production every day.
Record pages, reinvented
Record pages, adapted to how the team works.
Standard Salesforce record pages were replaced with custom layouts: an activity opens with a photo hero and live KPIs; a person opens as a profile with identity, payments, donations and email history; a payment shows its state at a glance.
- Activity pages: photo hero, confirmed places, gender balance, pending payments and a full enrollment manager with bulk actions.
- Person pages: dark hero with avatar and badges, dynamic-forms identity editor, pending payments card, donations and cross-channel email hub.
- Payment pages: status-colored hero (paid = green), gateway link, timeline of confirmation and one-click refund.

Operations
A control center per operational area.
Instead of generic record lists, every operational area got its own control center: a global “epic dashboard” home, an activities explorer with live capacity, editorial and housing centers, org chart tooling and health panels.
- Global home dashboard: registrations, payments, checkout and pending collections at a glance.
- Activities v2: 610 activities filterable by type, age group and 20+ countries, with attention alerts.
- Org chart tooling managing 1,100+ coordinators across 47 regions.
- Editorial center running 975 active subscribers across two book collections.

Donations & payments
Donations and payments, automated.
A complete donation engine built on custom objects and the Paymatico gateway: payment links generated by trigger, signed webhooks, scheduled reconciliation, refunds resolved against the gateway and monthly branded reports by email.
- “Compartiriados” project catalog feeding the public donations landing on hakuna.org via REST.
- Each web donation lands as a Gift record; the payment link comes back to the browser in seconds.
- Recurring donations (Growup), delinquency management and editorial subscriptions with real refunds.
- Every callout logged; stuck refunds self-heal by re-querying the gateway one payment at a time.

Craft
The pieces behind it.
In-house design system
Shared LWC primitives — tokens, shells, hero headers, KPI tiles, pills, segmented tabs, filter chips — keep 108 components visually coherent and fast to build.
Integrations everywhere
Shopify order sync over GraphQL with webhook + backfill, Marketing Cloud email history on every contact, Gmail API sending, Google Sheets operational syncs and REST APIs consumed by the public website.
Payments engineering
Link generation via queueables and batches, signature-verified webhooks, reconciliation jobs, refund resolution flows and payment-status rollups — designed for rate limits and failure.
JARVIS, the org’s own AI
An LLM assistant built into the org answers the team’s questions against live data — a project of its own, with its own page.
