Hakuna · Donations Product
Compartiriados
A donations platform where every solidarity project shows its goal and live progress — and a donation travels from a card on the website to the CRM, the payment gateway and back in seconds.
The product
Donate to a place, not to a form.
Hakuna’s summer escapadas run solidarity projects all over the world — Manila, Calcuta, Kaolack, Higüey. Each one becomes a card with a photo, a story, a funding goal and a live progress bar. Amounts are one tap; donating never leaves the flow.
- Goal bars go amber to green as projects reach 100% — surplus flows to the other projects: “todos por todos”.
- An interactive 3D globe (“Iniciativas por el mundo”) shows every initiative on the planet — active pins open the donation flow.
- Three project families — escapadas, during the year, emergencies — each with its own visual identity.
- Full-page payment takeover: project, progress, amount. Zero distractions, zero theme chrome.
- Everything bilingual, down to the payment flow and fiscal certificate emails.

Architecture
One donation, five systems, no manual steps in between.
The landing is WordPress; the truth lives in Salesforce. A donation crosses both plus the payment gateway without anyone touching it:
- WordPress reads the catalog from a custom Salesforce REST endpoint — projects, goals, amounts and images managed in the org.
- The donor picks a project and amount; WordPress creates the donation record in Salesforce over OAuth.
- A trigger fires the payment gateway asynchronously and stores the payment link on the record.
- The browser polls, then redirects to the gateway — the whole round trip takes seconds.
- Confirmation and fiscal certificate go out by email; reconciliation jobs keep gateway and CRM in sync.

Live since day one
In production, with real projects.
System
What I focused on
Product design
A reusable “Hakuna landing” system: dark hero with glows, floating white cards, one hero datum per card (the goal bar) and a color accent per project family.
Integration engineering
Custom REST endpoints, OAuth client-credentials flow, async trigger-driven link generation and browser polling designed around gateway latency.
Back office UX
A Salesforce panel where the team creates projects with a visual editor and live preview — publish to the web without touching a line of code.
Trust mechanics
Live progress, transparent goals, surplus reallocation and tax-deduction certificates — the details that make people comfortable donating online.
