Liberia Documentary Photography
A field photography and video direction project around In Mary’s Hands, from Monrovia Central Prison and South Beach to West Point and local communities.
Scope
Photography, access and narrative in the field.
This work sits apart from the Mary’s Hands website and The Cyrenean project. It is the visual fieldwork behind them: photographs, locations, interviews, footage and narrative decisions made on the ground in Liberia.
The video piece was built from high-intensity locations including Monrovia Central Prison, South Beach and West Point. My role covered field direction, location coordination, visual decisions, edit structure and voice-over storytelling.
Field production
Coordinating access, movement and filming conditions in sensitive environments.
Documentary photography
Own-photo archive from the Liberia field folders, separated from third-party material.
Video direction
Location, edit, rhythm and voice-over decisions for the campaign piece.
Film
A visual story from Liberia.
The video brings together prison access, street-level reality and the work surrounding In Mary’s Hands. It works as a campaign piece, but also as a record of field direction and documentary decision-making.
Selected work
Prison, coast and community.
